janet macPhee, founder

Janet MacPhee is an experienced coach and consultant who helps both individuals and organizations optimize their performance. She also brings a depth of facilitation expertise to her work. Janet has over 20 years of corporate organizational development experience, including specific areas as needs assessment, instructional design, team development, employee engagement and succession planning. She has worked with a diverse range of industry sectors, including manufacturing, service, various government organizations, pharmaceutical and retail. Janet started her career teaching elementary students before transitioning into the corporate world.

During her corporate career, Janet is particularly proud of being able to facilitate and coach individuals at all levels of organizations, from unionized, shop-floor employees to Presidents and Senior Management teams. Along with Janet’s learning and development experience, she has also spearheaded and implemented a competency assessment process that included creating competency profiles, facilitating 360° feedback assessments, and developing individualized development plans. She continues to partner with leaders in a variety of positions to help them gain clarity and increased focus in their work, while strengthening their leadership capabilities.

In 2002, Janet founded her own consulting firm to provide coaching and organizational development services to individuals and corporate clients. For many years, Janet worked on a freelance basis as a career coach within the outplacement industry to help individuals take hold of their career direction and identify next steps. Clients speak of her ability to help them raise awareness, identify options and make informed choices. Janet’s strong attention to detail and follow-up capability help her clients stay focused and true to their goals.

Through a long-standing relationship with Performance Coaching Inc., Janet also works regularly at the Queen’s University Leadership Program as a coach, utilizing The Attentional and Interpersonal Style inventory assessment tool. Similar work was also performed with a large organization in British Columbia over a five year period. Utilizing other individual and multi-rater assessment tools such as the Leadership Skills Profile and Radius is an integral part of Janet’s coaching process; allowing clients to gather data about their strengths and development opportunities.

Community work is important to Janet. As a Board member and former Chair with the Caledon Parent-Child Centre/Ontario Early Years and volunteer coach with Up with Women (a program to help formerly homeless women identify career next steps); she continues to learn and grow through these experiences. Janet is currently a volunteer with COPE Service Dogs. Janet holds Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Education, is an accredited Professional Coach through Adler International Learning and an accredited teacher. Her passion is to connect with her clients through enthusiasm and genuineness to help them develop to their fullest potential.
